About the Grammer MSG65/531 and MSG75/531
The Grammer MSG65/531 and MSG75/531 are low-profile seats designed for compact equipment with limited cab height — most commonly skid steer loaders, compaction rollers, and zero-turn mowers. The "/531" designation indicates the low-profile configuration, which sits closer to the floor than standard 700 series seats like the MSG85/731 or MSG95/731.
The key difference between the two models is the suspension system:
- Grammer MSG65/531 — Mechanical suspension. No power required. Supports up to 375 lbs. (SKU: 210005, $990.90)
- Grammer MSG75/531 — 12V air suspension. Requires a 12V DC power connection. Includes operator presence switch (OPS). Supports up to 375 lbs. (SKU: 220005, $1,272.34)
Both seats share the same mounting footprint and are compatible with the same 500 series accessories. Parts are not interchangeable with Grammer 700 series seats (MSG85, MSG95) — the 500 and 700 series use different mounting configurations.

Armrests: Grammer 500 Series Arms
The Grammer 500 Series Armrests (SKU: 2020, $169.91) are the correct armrests for both the MSG65/531 and MSG75/531. They are sold as a pair only — individual left or right arms are not available for the 500 series.
Important: Do not order the Grammer 700 Series Armrests (SKU: 2030/2031/2032) for these seats. The mounting brackets are different and the 700 series arms will not fit the 500 series seat back frame.
- SKU: 2020
- Price: $169.91 (pair)
- Fits: MSG65/531 and MSG75/531

Seatbelt: Grammer 500 Series Seat Belt
The MSG65/531 and MSG75/531 use a dedicated Grammer-branded seatbelt with a specific mounting configuration for the 500 series seat frame. Use the Grammer 500 Series Seat Belt — do not substitute a generic AmSafe belt, as the mounting points differ.
- SKU: 2410
- Price: $91.00
- Type: 2-inch retractable, SAE J386 certified
- Fits: MSG65/531 and MSG75/531

Operator Presence Switch (OPS): Grammer 700 Series OPS
The MSG75/531 (12V air suspension model) includes an operator presence switch (OPS) that cuts power to certain machine functions when the operator leaves the seat — a critical safety feature on skid steers and zero-turn mowers. If the OPS switch fails, the machine may not operate correctly or may throw a fault code.
The Grammer 700 Series OPS Switch (SKU: 2110, $113.00) is compatible with the MSG75/531.
- SKU: 2110
- Price: $113.00
- Fits: MSG75/531 (12V air suspension model)
- Note: The MSG65/531 (mechanical) does not use an OPS switch

MSG65/531 vs MSG75/531: Which Do You Have?
If you're not sure which model you have, the easiest way to tell is to look for a wiring harness connected to the seat:
- No wiring harness — You have the MSG65/531 (mechanical suspension). No OPS switch.
- Wiring harness present — You have the MSG75/531 (12V air suspension). Includes OPS switch and requires 12V power.
You can also check the model label on the underside of the seat pan or the side of the suspension housing. See our seat model identification guide for detailed instructions.
Common Equipment Applications
The MSG65/531 and MSG75/531 are commonly found on the following equipment types. This is not an exhaustive list — always verify by checking the seat model label rather than assuming by equipment type.
- Skid steer loaders — Bobcat, Case, Caterpillar, John Deere, Kubota, New Holland
- Compaction rollers — Bomag, Dynapac, Hamm, Sakai, Volvo
- Zero-turn mowers — Various commercial mower brands
- Compact track loaders — Similar cab profile to skid steers
The low-profile /531 configuration is specifically chosen for these machines because standard-height seats (like the /731 or /732) would not fit within the cab envelope.
500 Series vs 700 Series: Don't Mix Parts
This is the most common ordering mistake for Grammer seats. The 500 series (/531) and 700 series (/731, /732) use different mounting hardware and accessory brackets. Parts are not interchangeable between the two series:
- 700 series armrests (SKU 2030/2031/2032) will not fit 500 series seats
- 500 series armrests (SKU 2020) will not fit 700 series seats
- The 500 series seatbelt (SKU 2410) has different mounting than the standard AmSafe belts used on 700 series seats
If you're unsure which series your seat is, check the model number. Any Grammer seat with "/531" in the model number is a 500 series low-profile seat. Any seat with "/731" or "/732" is a 700 series standard-height seat. See our seat model identification guide for help reading your model number.
